New illustrations and sketches

A new cover for Craig Halloran's story "Chronicles of Dragon", showing Nath Dragon (the hero) at the front.

A portfolio-piece and personal work showing an army of magicians fighting against a "Fireworm".

And more sketches, rough works and drawings are uploaded daily into my new Sketchbook on Tumblr:

Meanwhile I draw a lot with pencils and other traditional tools. My eyes got tired after half a year of working digital the whole day, every week, every month. In case you want to follow my traditional work you can visit (and follow if you like) my blog on Tumblr. But I will upload my sketches soon and post a bunch of them in this blog too (right here, so you don't have to follow two blogs). I hope I will have my energy back very soon, as digital work is of course very important nowadays. And I have new colored works in progress, as well as drawings prepared to be colored and textured the next days.

Stay tuned and thanks for visiting my blogs.

A Fantasy Map for Craig Halloran

Recently I had an interesting commission: I illustrated the world of author Craig Halloran. His world named Nalzambor is where his new book-series takes place.

This is my very first map I ever worked on, it was interesting for me to create the different locations.

To learn more about Craig Halloran's world and stories, have a look at his Facebook-page:

Tools I used to create the map: Wacom Intuos3 A3 + Photoshop CS5.1.1

New Sketchbook-Blog and a completed image

Recently I am drawing a lot with traditional tools, rather than drawing digital, as it is still the most natural way of creating texture and vivid pencil strokes just with the raw media. The raw feel of paper and graphite, or the random texture created by markers or acrylics.

Of course I go on to draw and paint digital. For any digital or traditional sketch or drawing, I use my old Tumblr blog: You can follow me there if you are interested in my sketches and drawings.

My Tumblr Sketchbook is right here: click

And a recently finished artwork, showing "Sir Drakenschwing" and his Wyvern:

There is also a fantasy-map I might be able to upload soon, stay tuned.
